My Food Bag
Solution
My Food Bag wanted a modern, open plan office space as well as a working kitchen for menu design, complete with a photography area and cold store. The existing building was stripped back and the old water-cooled air conditioning systems were removed to allow for the installation of a Daikin VRF multi-system. All services were exposed to give the space an industrial style look.

Project
MediaWorks wanted to upgrade their existing building to a modern, open plan office layout and state-of-the-art media facility. Jackson Engineering, Cape Ltd and Stack Interiors were engaged to design a progressive upgrade. The building was stripped of all its mechanical systems and new, exposed services were installed along with a new building management system and main chiller – and all whilst the building & studios remained operational.

To redevelop the North Wharf Cargo Shed into a bar and restaurant
Solution
Overhaul and redesign mechanical systems due to small plant area and design of the building. Install kitchen & plant room mechanical ventilation systems, being mindful of the character and special design restrictions of this heritage building.

Halton kitchen hood complete with rooftop extract system and ducted make-up air system.
Kmart, Whangarei
Solution
Specified project with several large capacity systems for the retail space and the office block. Another quality project completed ahead of time.
South Waikato Events & Sports
Project
Sports and Events Centre in Tokoroa, including an indoor sports arena, gymnasium, changing facilities and two function rooms. This was initially a tendered project that had gone over-budget. We stepped in and, after completing redesign work, were able to offer an efficient, alternative solution that was welcomed by the client.

Antony Bennett Managing Director, Auckland BranchAfter earning qualifications and experience in the HVAC and refrigeration industry in New Zealand and overseas (UK & USA) Antony joined the Cool Ray team in 2006. As managing director of the Cool Ray Auckland location, he is regularly involved in challenging projects. Antony’s focus is on understanding our clients’ needs and expectations to deliver the optimal solution, be it design and build or as per specification.

Matthew Hallberg Managing Director, Whangarei Branch
Matthew founded the Cool Ray company in 2005 in Whangarei and, within a year, had expanded the business to include a second location in Auckland. Since the beginning, he has had the pleasure of completing many complex projects, both specified and Cool Ray’s own design-build.
Matthew’s experience obtained in New Zealand as well as overseas, combined with advanced trade qualifications, provides a current and in-depth knowledge of the local air conditioning industry.
